The Pokémon World Championships 2024, held in Honolulu, HI, was a highly anticipated global event that brought together thousands of Pokémon enthusiasts, competitive players, and fans from around the world. Taking place from August 13-18, the event featured intense tournaments across multiple game formats, interactive exhibits, and exclusive merchandise opportunities. As the pinnacle of the competitive Pokémon season, the Championships also served as a celebration of the franchise's cultural impact, offering fans a chance to meet creators, engage in live events, and immerse themselves in the Pokémon universe.
The Staffing Brief
Victory was chosen to provide comprehensive staffing solutions for the Pokémon World Championships 2024, covering 306 shifts across a variety of roles that were essential for the event's smooth operation. The roles required included Booth Staff to manage exhibitor spaces, Room Attendants to ensure event areas were maintained, Directional/Wayfinders to assist attendees in navigating the venue, and Game Room Monitors to oversee the tournament areas. Victory also staffed Line Management teams to handle the flow of participants, Activity Station personnel to engage fans in interactive experiences, and Brand Ambassadors to represent the Pokémon brand with enthusiasm and knowledge. Team Leads and Managers were also provided to ensure all operations ran seamlessly and to coordinate with event organizers on-site.
The Results
Victory successfully fulfilled all 306 shifts with 82 highly skilled and enthusiastic staff members. The professionalism and expertise of Victory’s staff contributed significantly to the overall success of the event. Game Room Monitors ensured that the tournaments ran smoothly without disruptions, while Directional/Wayfinders and Line Management teams effectively managed the large crowds, reducing wait times and enhancing the attendee experience. Booth Staff and Brand Ambassadors played a key role in creating memorable interactions for fans, resulting in positive feedback from exhibitors and attendees alike.
